Profile, appearance, and data export.
Settings apply to whatever context you're in—personal account or team. Switch contexts to configure each separately.
Profile
Set your display name, bio, and profile picture. These show on your public homepage. You can also add social links (Twitter, LinkedIn, Bluesky, website) that appear if you enable them in layout settings.

Customize how your public page looks:
Colors
Set your brand colors:
- Primary — main buttons and links
- Secondary — hover states and accents
- Accent — highlights and decorative elements
Typography
- Font family — system, serif, or sans-serif
- Heading style — bold, normal, or light
- Body text size — small, medium, or large
Content visibility
Toggle what appears on your public page:
- Show stats — displays subscriber count, post count, and publication count in your profile header. Counts unique subscribers across all publications.
- Show avatar — your profile picture
- Show social links — links to your Twitter, LinkedIn, Bluesky, website, etc.
- Featured posts — highlight your most recent post prominently at the top
- Posts per page — how many posts to show before pagination (default: 6)
Avatar
- Shape — circle, rounded, or square
- Size — small, medium, or large
- Border — show or hide a border around your avatar
Data export
Download everything: newsletters, subscribers, publications, settings. Available as JSON (complete backup) or CSV (easier to view in spreadsheets).
Your data belongs to you. Export anytime from the Data Export tab.
Google Drive backup
Automatically back up your data to Google Drive. Connect your Google account and your newsletters, subscribers, and settings get saved to a "Joyful Backups" folder in your Drive.
Setup
- Go to Settings → Data Export
- Click Connect Google Account
- Grant access to Google Drive
- Enable Automatic Backups and choose your frequency
Backup frequency
Choose how often backups run:
- Daily — every 24 hours
- Weekly — every 7 days
- Monthly — every 30 days
Manual backup
Click Backup Now to create a backup immediately. Use "Open folder" to view your backups in Google Drive.
What's included
Each backup contains your user profile, publications, newsletters (with content), and subscribers as a JSON file.
