Joyful Docs

Homepage

Your public newsletter page.

Every publication gets a public page at username.joyful.to/publication. Visitors can browse your past newsletters and subscribe.

Customizing

Edit your publication to set:

  • Display name — what shows as the title
  • Bio — short description under your name
  • Logo — your publication's logo image
  • Colors — primary, secondary, and accent colors for buttons and links
  • Social links — Twitter, LinkedIn, Bluesky, website

More layout options (fonts, avatar shape, what sections to show) are in your account Settings.

Subscription settings

Customize the subscribe section:

  • Title — heading text (default: "Stay updated")
  • Description — explain what subscribers get
  • Button text — call to action (default: "Subscribe")
  • Double opt-in — require email confirmation before subscribing

Single publication layout

If you have only one publication, your homepage is streamlined:

  • Featured post — your most recent post is displayed prominently at the top with larger text and cover image
  • Inline subscribe — visitors can subscribe directly from the sidebar without leaving the page
  • Simplified navigation — no separate publication page since everything is on your homepage

If you have multiple publications, visitors see a list of recent posts across all publications, plus a dedicated Publications section to browse each one.

Custom domain

With Pro, you can host your homepage at your own domain like newsletter.yoursite.com. See Custom Domains for setup.

RSS feeds

Every publication has an RSS feed that readers can subscribe to:

  • Publication feedusername.joyful.to/your-publication/rss.xml
  • All publicationsusername.joyful.to/rss.xml (combines all your publications)

The feeds include full newsletter content, so readers see everything in their RSS app without visiting your site.

Dark mode

Your homepage automatically respects visitors' system preferences. Your custom colors work in both light and dark modes.
